I want to teach
Who can be a mentor?
Anyone with a skill and experience on a topic.
Does it need to be a technical skill?
No, it can be any skill you feel appropriate for the Bangladeshi youths. Perhaps, you can help improve English communication skills, or you have training in first aid, or you know how to fix common issues with cell phone – all these skills are something you can teach.
What are the skills now being taught by other mentors?
1. Spoken English communication, 2. Presentation skills, 3. Interviewing skills, 4. Career guidance.
How much time do I need to spend?
Each session is typically 30-60 minutes long, meeting once a week, lasting from 4 to 12 weeks. You can adjust this based on your discussion with the mentee.
Do I use a phone or computer?
Typically the first introductary session is done using a smart phone and WhatsApp. Follow up sessions are typically done using a computer. Discuss with your mentee to decide what is best for you two.
Which online platform do I need to use?
Typically Zoom, GoogleMeet or other available video conferencing apps. Discuss with your mentee to choose what is easier for both.
How long will it take to find mentees for my lessons?
It depends. Once we have details about your proposed lesson, we will share the information with potential mentees through web posting and/or direct mailing. You will be notified immediately if anyone shows interest to your proposed lesson.
Could I select my mentees?
Please let us know if you have any preferences regarding the mentees. We will try to match mentees according to your preference but cannot guarantee.
What happens if I need to change the lesson schedule?
Please contact your mentee at your earliest convenience and find out a time that works for both of you.
What do I need to do if I need to cancel my lessons?
If for any reason you cannot or do not want to continue, please explain to the mentee or contact us.
